THE 10th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON EMERGING CHALLENGES: STRATEGIC ADAPTATION IN THE WORLD OF UNCERTAINTIES

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi University of Science and Technology – School of Economics and Management, University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, National Economics University – Faculty of Business and Management, The University of Danang – University of Economics, Vietnam National University – International School, Foreign Trade University, University of Hertfordshire (UK), AVSE Global (France) and PPM School of Management (Indonesia) will organize The 10th International Conference on Emerging Challenges: Strategic Adaptation in the World of Uncertainties (SAWU) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (online sessions available for international participants) on November 4-5, 2022. We would like to invite you to be a part of the ICECH2022 and submit your research papers for presentation consideration.

The aim of ICECH2022 is to provide a forum for academics and professionals to share research findings, experiences and knowledge for adaptation and business strategy in a post-Covid as well as various uncertainties and complexities in the world in the Asia-Pacific region. We welcome the submissions in Economics, Business, Innovation Management, and Business Law.

Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present their work at the Conference. In addition, authors of best papers will also be invited to submit their papers to a special issue or a regular issue for publication consideration in selected journals. These papers will also be under an official double-blind peer-reviewed process by the journal.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: 


Prof. Andrew Crane

Andrew Crane is Professor of Business and Society and Director of the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society in the School of Management at the University of Bath, UK. He is also an International Affiliate Faculty at Audencia Business School in France, and has been a visiting professor at Bocconi University, Copenhagen Business School, Royal Holloway University of London, among others. He is a leading author, researcher, educator and commentator on corporate responsibility. His books include an award-winning textbook on Business Ethics, the Oxford Handbook of Corporate Social Responsibility, and Social Partnerships and Responsible Business.

He has published in some of the world’s leading academic journals, including the Academy of Management Review, California Management Review, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Studies. From 2015-2019 he was co-editor of the journal, Business & Society and he is also currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Management Studies and Organization Theory. He is a frequent contributor to the media, including the Financial Times, New York Times, Globe and Mail, Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian. From 2008-2014 he co-authored the popular Crane and Matten blog and in 2017 launched the Bath Business and Society blog.

Prof. Reeb, David M.

Head of Department, Accounting, Business School, National University of Singapore, Singapore.

Dr. Reeb holds the Mr. and Mrs. Lin Jo Yan Professorship, with appointments in both accounting and finance. He serves as a Senior Fellow of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research, a Fellow at the Academy of International Business, as the Director of Business Doctoral Programs in NUS Business School, and Head of Department, Accounting.

Dr. Reeb’s research interests range from founding-family ownership to the disclosure of corporate innovation, spanning the organization of accounting firms to shadow insider trading. His work has appeared in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Accounting Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, American Economic Review, Journal of Law and Economics, and the Journal of International Business Studies. His body of research has generated over 5,000 citations in other academic works, according to Web of Science (Google Scholar 17,000+). In addition, his work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, The Economist, Forbes, the Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune, Inc. Magazine, SmartMoney, MSNBC, and several other leading publications in the US, Canada, and Australia. He has also been interviewed by CNN, Comcast and Bloomberg TV.

Dr. Reeb has been consistently recognised for his academic contributions. His 2003 study on founding-family firms is one of the 20 most cited articles in the Journal of Finance of all time. Similarly, his research on accounting report integrity is the most highly cited paper in the Journal of Accounting and Economics in 2004. More recently, his research on “Missing R&D” in the Journal of Accounting and Economics is the 5th most cited paper among the top 3 journals in accounting in 2015.

Prof. Ian Phau

Professor Ian Phau is the Marketing Discipline Lead and the Director of the Luxury Branding Research Cluster. He continues to maintain a high calibre profile in a wide range of industry sectors, where his extensive industry and research expertise have led to much success. Recent portfolios include LVMH, Shiseido, Prada, Gucci, Millbrook Winery, Larry Jewelry and DPIRD

Within these collaborations, his research has focused on country image, luxury branding, brand counterfeiting and piracy, consumer animosity and advertising appeals. His publications appear in the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Brand Management and Psychology and Marketing, amongst others. He is the current Editor-in-Chief for the Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics (Emerald). This has subsequently led to him being awarded the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence – Leading Editor Awards for outstanding editorship for Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics in 2007. Further, he has been heavily involved in the supervision for Honours, Masters and PhD dissertations across several research areas and has had many successful students.

Most recently, Professor Phau founded the Luxury Branding Research Cluster within the School of Marketing at Curtin University. Led by Professor Phau, the team focuses on engaging in industry relevant and innovative research. This has led to the developing of the Luxury Branding Consumer Research Lab, a psychophysiological lab which offers an innovative world leading approach to accurate marketing and business application research. In addition to this, Professor Phau hosted the inaugural “Mystique of Luxury Brands Conference” in Shanghai 2016, China which is succeeded by Seoul 2017, Singapore 2018 and Tokyo 2019 with the aim of bridging the gap between industry and academia within the luxury sector.
